Sensei, asians, bruce lee...
Hey guys, I'm new here, Been checking out the boards for a while, and it looks like theres alot of knowledge here Which leads me to my question..
What workouts target the Lats directly. I'm shooting for the V shape, and the lats is mostly what I need to improve.
Shooting for the Bruce Lee Lats. Not looking for too much in mass, like those you see in Arnolds book, because I have the hardest time gaining weight/mass, I'm 6'1'', 165.
For those of you that saw the movie "The Rundown" With The Rock, remember the part where he fights the little Asian dude. I like his mass, cutness.

So your happy with your weight? You say you have a hard time gaining weight... Have you ever really tried to gain weight? It really isnt' that hard. Just takes some discipline, desire and FOOD.Read the stickies in the diet section. They helped me gain 18 pounds in about 2 months.

Bruce peaked at 165, at your height you need to weigh at least 200-215 solid to look any kind of muscular.
Controlling your diet is how you gain weight, lose bodyfat, and so on.

rather than telling you to hit the diet and what not, which you should, I'll answer your question. I personally like pullups, bent over barbell rows, pulldowns. Pullovers and T-bar rows work well also. Check out exrx.net for any information on the exercises, along with pictures on correct form. Also what others said, just eat and eat and eat some more.
I'll just second what everyone else has said. To gain weight, simply take what you eat in a day and double it. If you stick to it you will notice gains.

I agree, to gain weight you need to eat a lot of food, in small portions and OFTEN.

Yep, that's the site where I've learned to target specific areas and make workouts based on the exercises listed there.Originally Posted by jaim91

as far as building your lats: rows (barbell, cable, dumbbell), pull-downs (wide & narrow) and pull-ups.

Actually, Bruce never went past 140. He was a tiny guy.

My information could be bogus, but when he discovered weights Ironman Magazine claimed he reached 165.

Wasn't he about 5'7? There was no way he was ever as high as 165

Yeah he was 5'-7" and he never ate. He was a training fanatic with endless energy.
