    Help w/ cutting

OK, I'm new here and have been reading all of the forums but cannot find
    an answer for this.

Basically, I started doing high-intensity cardio 5 days per week for 45 min each day for 3 weeks now.

So far I have lost around 11 lbs, but I seem to be stuck. I mean, I'm still doing the cardio, but the scale is not moving. As far as diet goes, I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right. In fact, I could probably use more carbs. I'm definitely getting enough protien. Besides, with this level of cardio, I should be losing weight even if I eat buffets every day right?

Is there such thing as a plateau w/ cardio?
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Any tips or suggestions?

    Thanks.

Seems like way too much cardio.

    Do you lift weights?

I agree. It feels like it. But the scale has not moved after 5 days of hard core cardio. What sucks is that I've really been dieting hard too. I just don't understand it.

As far as weights, My plan is to get as cut as possible and then see what I want to sculpt. I'm not really trying to pack on any size except for mid-delts anyway.

Weight is more than just fat. You have to consider water retention levels and what time you weigh yourself.....you may have food sitting in your stomach. Try getting BF tested and base off that.

the purpose of high-intensity cardio is not to burn calories but to increase the resting metabolic rate. high-intensity cardio should be done for no more than 20 minutes 2-3x a week.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Thats what I'm thinking. I mean, I am currently working at around 85% of my max heart rate (170 bpm) and my legs are exhausted and sore. I'm guessing I should try around 155-160?

Agreed with most of the above; way too much cardio. If you want to stay on a machine that long, slow it down.

how many cals are you taking in a day?? how often are you eating?
with your cardio you should switch up to doing a HIIT routine for max 30min if your
hitting it hard. I do my HIIT routine and I burn over 350cals in 20mins which is pretty
decent. If you are weight training on top of a cardio rountine like what you described
I bet your in the danger zone of to low of cals and your not doing anything but harm
to yourself and putting your body in starvation mode and due to that you wouldn't
see any results and possibley you could adverse results. You could get fatter even.

I have made this mistake in the past. Make sure you sit down and write out your
typical diet and how many cals your burning a day.

whoops I forgot that your not lifting weights eheheheh.

well you should start and you burn much more fat. You should take in a vage 400 cal
meal 6times a day give or take. Develope a lifting routine. Get your BF% done and
your measurements taken. For the next 4weeks of training take that scale and toss
it in the trash. You might even gain some weight but that's not a bad thing.

If you want to burn fat and keep it off 1-2% of BF a week would be an optimal goal
    to set for yourself.

don't do that dude. You need to define your body. If you are shaped like apple your
diet and just cardio are just gonna make you a smaller apple. Weights are gonna make
you cut. Your diet will be key in the process as well. go through others cutting
journals and kinda peice together something fits your lifestyle.
