First question, no, but it's easier for an endomorph to gain muscle than a ectomorph. It has nothing to do with the fat though.Originally Posted by Fashong
The second question, no again.
My friend thinks it is easier to gain strength/muscle if your fatter.
He also says you can turn fat into muscle.. Is this true??

How the hell does fat help with strength?? Maybe because there arms are use to carrying around the weight?

I notice a lot of fat people have nice calves...maybe thats why they wear shorts during winter.
Yeah, I've noticed that too. Maybe it's because their legs have to support more day to day and fat doesn't tend to be stored on the legs as much as other places?
It is easier to gain muscle if you eat a lot, which might make you fat.
You cannot turn fat into muscle (it's amazing how many people actually believe this to be true). However, gaining muscle will boost your metabolism, thus burning more calories throughout the day and therefore burning fat.
And yes, carrying around 50 pounds more than someone else 24/7 will most likely make you stronger.
