I don't like listening to music whilst training. Successful weight training requires you to keep a rhythm, usually a slow rhythm if your trying to gain strength, when music is on, I tend to find myself out of rhythm because of the musics infuence. Say if Slipknot or Metallica is on, not only does my head bang around But I speed up alot....Not good.

not really sure what your implying. Wearing headphones is actually proven to help increase focus and intensity. It keeps you in your old world. I have never heard of anyone not being able to control the speed of movements b/c of music tempo, thats crazy mayn. The right music can put you in the right mindstate, whatever it may need to be from individual to individual. maybe for you you need to listen to slower paced shit instead then. Something to get the adrenaline pumpin and the intensity cranked, thats the only way to go...

as for me I like alot of different things, I can dig teh heavy metal and hard rock for sure, but my number one fav to bump is just straight murder music, Yukmouth, brotha lynch, tech n9ne, pacs more intense shit, basically that real thugg shit. Gets me in that hostile psychotic mood, gets the job done

I know it's corny, but it could be one of the best energy songs ever, 'Fly Like an Eagle' atleast Seal's version, good stuff.

I train @ Golds, so it's Techno/Disco, which is fine. I'd rather here Ok dance rather than mediocre rock, I HATE Tool & SOAD, (unlike a couple posts here)....If I had my way: NY Dolls,Dead Kennedys, Donnas, Iggy & The Stooges......
