Bench Press
Today I was bench pressing close-grip flat, and I can only do 101 lbs for 3 reps.
The weight fell on me when I tried to do 4 I couldn't get it up. I weigh 140lbs so 101lbs is sorta pathetic isn't it? |

what the hell is your question? Were was your spotter? Why would you train to failure without a spotter? You are stupid.
*don't take offense to this. I haven't eaten carbs in 3 days* ![]()

Functional Lifting = Life
|
Really though, 107 (which is probably your approximate max) isn't too bad for someone who weighs 140. There are many factors that come into play, such as how tired you were, your nutrition that day, energy level, amount of rest, and many other things that could've thrown you off. Whatever you do, don't get discouraged; realize that this may not be your strong point and work on it doubly hard.
Push yourself. Enjoy yourself. Be yourself.
Knowledge is power. Obsessed with functional strength. Journal |

When you don't have a spotter, try substituting close grip bench for skull crushers, or some other core tricep exercise. When you wanna bench for chest and dont have a spot, go with dumbells, and you'll be able to push yourself much harder.
