A good rule of thump is 95% of what Arnold said about training is wrong, except for doing 25 sets of chest 3x a week, that one is true.

When I was a teenager my friends and I tried to train chest like Arnold said to but couldn't. We thought we were pussys, We could only manage 10-12 sets 2x a week.

Yes I was being sarcastic, but 15 years ago I believed every word of it.

thats what I thought. Man, its crazy even just to look through his beginner programs from that encyclopedia of his, its such hardcore overtraining for most cats. Squatting and deadlifting 3 times a week or sum shit for someone who has never done wither before...lol

Depending on the way in which I do them I can use them for chest or lats (not exclusively of course). I like using them for both bodyparts...one week for lats and one for chest.

do you guys really think arnold followed his own routine, or did he just say that to mess up his opponents if they tried to follow it?

That's an interesting concept. But you'd think that he wouldn't put something to mess up his opponents in a book he wrote after he stopped competing. I guess you never know though...

Yes, Arnold followed that routine, and that type of volume was very common back then.

routines are constantly changing. so I'm sure he used it for a period of time. nobody follows the exact same routine for 10-20 years, etc.
