Sharp pains in my wrist
Ever since I've started lifting routinely, my right wrist always hurts. It is a sharp pain that I can feel even when I'm just typing and my hand is resting on the desk while my fingers move. Sometimes it gets so bad to where I need to put on a wrist guard that is normally for people who have carpal tunnel.
It's only in one wrist too; not both. My right wrist. Any ideas as to easing the pain or preventing this altogether?

Functional Lifting = Life

Stop doing anything involving your wrists. Let it heal, then ease back into things and see if it heals. Perhaps someone else can give more useful advice.

I was having pains in my right wrist as well. It is more of a dull pain on occassion now. For me, I found that weighted dips caused my wrists to articulate (bend) at the bottom of the dip in a painfull way. I tend to lower myself as far as I can (hands were at my armpit level. I was also using too narrow of a grip for close grip bench presses. I changed up to bench dips and wider grip on the close grip BP. Pain rarely flairs up now. I have started doing dip again a week or so ago with no noticible pain. Instead of gripping the dip bars with the palms of my hands facing inward (just like you would if using parallel bars), I grabbed the end of the bars with my hands facing back (thumbs on the inside). It is kind of awkward cause I worry about my hands slipping, but I had no pain or discomfort in my wrists.

I've experienced the pains in wrist too(straight bar curls/close grip presses). The pain was felt when lifting heavy with training partner. The question to myself was- should I stop lifting heavy? Never! I tried taping 1st. Taping or wrist wraps did help me get threw the workouts but my wrists weren't healing. Stretching seem to help a little but the best therapy for me was spinning non-chucks. I haven't been lifting heavy for a while since training partner stop and my wrist are back to feeling normal. When I start going back to heavy workouts I'll be using the wraps, stretching and spinning some type of martial arts weapon between sets. Home gym so I won't scare anyone
