I tie a 45 Lb weight to each leg then I run 5-10 miles at a 5min mile pace...I do this 2x a day every day.

I have a greyhound and she is lazy.

Now on leg weights while running? why? You want problems with your knee joints and causes improper mechanics in running, etc. Look into a weighted vest instead.

I wouldn't use a weighted vest or leg weights...

Any weight placed directly on your body will increase the amount of impact downward onto your joints!!!!
(Unless you are training to improve Vert... IE Basketball, Highjump)

What you want, is to run drills with a harness, and either pull a weighted sled on a field... or

My prefered method is to use a speed-chute such as this...
http://www.shapeupshop.com/fitness/r...ower_chute.htm
Using variable size chutes, I could run laps, or drills, (it's harder than it looks)

Another option, if you have access to a pool, would be running sprints in thigh deep or waist deep water... (This option promotes VERY low impact)

Or you can run short intervals... The extra effort your legs will produce to speed up and slow down may be something they are not used to!!

Have Problems?... Chances are its due to overpopulation
