shoulder problems

hi-

i'm fairly new to weight training (3 months) and love it.

the last few days i've seen a steady decrease in my ability to raise my
right arm above my shoulder. i thought it may just be fatigue, but now i don't think so.

2 days ago i was lifting some heavy amps (i'm a guitarist) with my right arm. yesterday i did some squats, and after a few, i noticed that even getting my right arm up to the bar became problematic. there's a slight soreness right underneath my shoulder blade. it's not really painful, but i can't lift the arm easily past my shoulders. i'm assuming i damaged
something although I didn't feel any tear.

what should i do? is this common? i have no health insurance so i'm really
hoping that i can just rest it for a while. i'll can keep running in the meantime.

thanks for any advice

Kevin
