    Bench Press Chains

Anyone ever use these? I first heard of them about six years ago from a guy named Bill Gillespie. He was the strength and conditioning coach for the University of Washington at the time and now holds the same position for the Seattle Seahawks. The guy talked them up and I think they're worth a shot considering he put up 628lbs and his 16yo son can bench well over 400lbs. Just wanted your opinions. Thinking about "picking some up" (pun intended)

I have seen them used and the guys really liked them. I would recommend seeing what you can find online, copy the design and buy the stuff to make 'em yourself. You will save TONS of money.

go to the hardware store and get some chain. it is way cheaper than buying them from an online source.

they are for power/force training for you bench press, squat or deadlift. Youplace them on the bar outside of the plates and use a weight that is anywhere from 60-75% of your 1RM. They increase the amount of weight at lock out.

Used mainly in the powerlifting scene...

Most Fitness type gyms don't have them

    I like them.

I like the bands too. they are harder to control since the are pulling the weight down so hard and unracking them they whip around a bit. they are much easier to trasport to the gym though and lighter than the chains (lol). Either way, it is pretty cool.
