Any of the Stuart McRoberts books....Braun, Beyond Braun, More Beyond Braun are pretty good. McRoberts is a good writer. I have only read Beyond Braun and I enjoyed. If you haven't read any of the things from the ironmind guys (Leistner, McRoberts, Strossen, Kubik) I would say start with Randelh Strossen's book Super Squats. It is just awesome. It is avaliable at ironmind.com and is pretty cheap.

Oh okay.....Supersquats is an awesome book. It gives some cool background and strength history of how the guys in the 50s and 60s were training. Guys like Paul Anderson, etc. From there it talks about the supersquats program. it is basically a high intensity training approach, one to two sets to failure except for the almighty squat. The squat is trained as one all out set of 20.......go for broke. Strossen recommends performing this brutal 20 rep set with a weight that is your best 10rep squat (Dr. leistner is also big on this). For those that have ever done this it is just freaking insane. For those that haven't, just take my word for it. It is rough. You really need some mental strength to push through that. The book is a bit dated interms of nutrional info as the author frequently speaks of drinking a gallon or more of milk per day as a way of adding as much mass as possible. But, the training stuff is cool. It is a no bull shit aproach. No need to waste your time training body parts and doing lateral raises and pressdowns. This book is just about a total body routine 2-3 times a week (basically you train once every 2 days. So mon, thurs, sun, wed..etc.). It tells you how you can set up your routine and the important exercises to perform. Very big on overhead pressing and pullovers aside from squats. Excellent read. It is cheap as hell. Short and to the point and reads very quickly. A must read IMO.

P man isn't this kinda following Dante's DOGGCRAPP same type of quad training

The squat is trained as one all out set of 20.......go for broke. Strossen recommends performing this brutal 20 rep set with a weight that is your best 10rep squat.

    Drew- Yes, I love pullovers

Tough- I suppose one could say that Dogg crapp training is following Supersquats and not the other way around. Strossen and the Ironmind group (Doc Leistner, Stuart McRoberts and Bill Starr) were around way before Dog shit and doing this stuff way before he was doing it. He may have rehashed some of their ideas. These guys are the guys IMO.

keep your elbows slightly bent (like when the DB is overhead they would be pointing up at the ceiling) and use a full ROM.

I don't know how you train so I don't know where you would fit them in.

    If you train....
    Bodyparts- back day
    push/pull- pull day
    total body- any day
