    Questions

When I do bent over rows with dumbbells for my back, I feel it working my arm more then my back. Also seated cable rows feel like they work my arms more then my back to. I do keep my back straight.

Sounds like you need to work on your form. You will feel it in your arms.
Its going to be hard to tell you what you are doing wrong without seeing you doing the excercise. Try to keep your back straight. Do not slide back and forth like you're in some kinda row boat. Pull your shoulder blades together and hold it. Make sure you're contracting the muscles in your back.

A good book that'll help you with your form is Strength Training Anatomy by Frederic Delavier. I think its like $15, check out amazon.

When you are little and never lifted and you flex, you can't really feel or bicep, or when you are little you can't flex your pec. Do you get more control over that when you get bigger?? Meaning size wise.

When doing bent over rows, pull your arm back using your elbow. Use weight that you can handle to be able to do at least 8 reps to failure and have a slow concentrated form. At the top of your lift, squeeze your back for 2-3 seconds and then slowly go back to the starting position and repeat.

As for seated cable rows, look at this video. You see how she pulls it all the way back slowly keeping her back straight? What i want you to try to do is do that same thing, but when you pull it all the way back...hold it for 2-3 seconds squeezing your back to feel the burn and make sure you do the proper weight you can handle for good form.

yes as you workout more and more and get bigger you will gain a mind/muscle connection...where u will be able to feel the actual muscle work...trying to flex a muscle after u hit it in a set is a good way to gain the mind/muscle connection...the back is such a complex muscle it was prob the last muscle group i learned to focus/flex/really feel.....
