I think it depends on: your age, how you train, if you are on steroids or not, and how you take care of your body.

I train everything once a week, except for calfs and forearms which I train twice... occasionally ill train bi's or tri's twice, to accompany a large muscle group (i.e- chest, back), in addition to my bi's/tri's day.

-Also train abs roughly 3 times a week

EDIT: I also train traps twice a week sometimes, but definetly train large muscle groups like chest, legs, and back once a week. I try to vary up my routine a lot so it really depends on the week.

I cant really give you a good answer, I just know that very high reps ( 30-40) once a week for a set or 2 always made me stronger. At my best I was 260 and benching 385 for 12 reps. Just on a whim I started benching 225 for max reps once a week ( heavy chest Monday 10 sets 8-10 reps, and on Friday one set of 225 to failure). First time I tried it I got 27 reps, in about 2 months I could do it over 50 reps. My bench went up to 405 for 12, and I could bench 365 for 19 reps. Same with squats, never lifted during football...but after the season after about 1 month my squats would be stronger than ever.

there is no black and white answer to this question, most intermediate and advanced bodybuilders train each bodypart once weekly, but there are many routines and ways of training that incorporate more frequent training.

in my experience it is a personal thing, eveybodys bodys are different, youve got to figure out what works for you through trial and error.

26.125 is my small arm, the right side is 26.25 but I didn't want to brag.

i found that after i decreased my bicep workout to once a week and lowered the sets and was able to do either more wieght or more reps the next week. So i think i might have been overworking before.

I hit each part once a week, but I also hit the hell out of those parts on that single day where it takes me 4-5 days to recover. After chest day, it hurts to put my seat belt on when I leave the gym.

I P/RR/S, so I train all muscle groups once a week. Tris and Bis dont need to be trained directly twice a week, if you run a split like this, mon:lats/tris, tues:legs, wed: off, thurs:chest/bis fri: delts/traps/abs, because bis get hit pretty well during lats day, and tris get nailed on chest day, if youre working hard at all...
