    10 great tips.

The only thing I sort of disagree with in the article is this...
For maximum muscle gain, the focus of your workouts should consist of free weight exercises. Not machines or bodyweight exercises. This is not to say that you shoud not use machines or bodyweight exercises, but they should not be the focus of your training. To get an effective, muscle blasting workout, you must stimulate the most muscle fibers as possible, and machines do not do this.

Machines help you keep better form. A lot of people who do free weights don't have good form and therefore don't show much gain. As long as you go heavy I think machines can "stimulate muscle fibers" just fine. My gym has more machines than you can even imagine.

Nope. You stimulate more muscle fibers using free weights because you are balancing the weight which therefore stimulates muscle fibers. Your wrong.

All the muscle building basics are free-weight exercises - squats, bench presses, barbell curls, barbell rows, deadlifts, close grip benches. Build the foundation of size with free-weights.

    Good day.

If you have been training hard for a long time with OUT a break.

Then yes, 1 week off doing nothing will help for sure.

I think people that use free weights exclusively and refuse to use machines are doing it more for their ego than anything else. You might look tougher standing in front of the mirror doing free weights, but I go by actual results not people's perception.
