To cadio or not to cardio? That is the question...

    Hey guys whats up.

Im starting to bulk at the moment, and will be doin so for the next 3 or so months, and then cutting for a couple of months before summer hits here in the land down under.

I was wondering if I should be doing one or two cardio sessions a week to try and keep my fat level down when bulking. I have found that I have put a little bit of fat on around my waist lately, since I havnt been doing much cardio at all, I'm sure my alcohol intake has something to do with that aswell.

I concede that I will put abit of fat on during this bulking period, but I would like to try and keep my six pack in some sort of order.

I was thinking of adding two 20 minute high intensity runs a week, what do you guys reckon?

I would like to add about 6 kilos in the next 3 months, and then cut back to like 8 percent fat or something like that.

Currently im 5"9, 70 kilos, im guessing about 12 percent fat? I will attach a current pic of myself so you guys can see.

Thanks for any feedback guys and girls!

    Mike.

What you should do is eat alot(clean food). Do cardio in the morning on empty stomach(low intensity cardio 20-30 minutes). This will burn fat and keep matabolism raised as well as increase appetite so you can eat more. Also try do carb cut-offs, thats were you stop eating carbs at a certain time. Try stopping carbs at 6-7PM. By doing this you can add muscle without putting fat on. Some people actually lose fat and gain weight(muscle).

By doing this you wont have to waste time putting on fat and then cutting(wasting muscle building time).

This is terrible advice, referring to the cardio on an empty stomach suggestion. Why would you throw yourself into such a state of catabolism while bulking? You are going to gain a bit of fat. Don't worry about it. That's where cutting comes in. As long as you don't start getting obese and jeopardizing your health, the little extra bit of fat isn't going to hurt anything (Except maybe your ego).

I do, however, advise doing some cardio while bulking. You will just have to eat some extra calories to compensate for the increase in RMR and calories burned while performing cardio. I say do some cardio maybe 2 days per week for no more than 30 minutes. You may also want to consider some sprinting and/or HIIT cardio as an alternative.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

Its not terrible advise. Have a protein shake first if you want. Theres no reason to bulk or cut. the best thing is to put on muscle with little to no fat it works better. Cutting is a waste of time, you should alway be putting on muscle and staying at a respectable bf%. The only time its good to cut is for a competition.
