    Pullovers?

I asked P-Funk about these. I never really do them... tried them today for ONE set.

Idk why, but it was RAPING the backs of my elbows... the tendons in that area. Know what I may be doing wrong? Those tendons don't even hurt doing heavy skulls or anything.

may just be the extra range of motion. they probably don't hurt during skull crushers because you aren't moving your shoulder through that much extension like you are on the pullover. It bothers me to do skull crushers so I don't do them. It bothers me to do pullovers with a barbell but with DBs I am usually okay. It is only bad if I go really heavy. So I usually throw the exercise in at the end of a workout for one or two sets to failure at around 12-25 reps.

Because the cable pullover works your long tricep and your lats, not your pectoralis minor, right?

your lats and triceps will help to bring the weight from overhead to the begining position (shoulder extension). Pec minor depresses the scapula. I guess it gets a little work since on the eccentric you are moving through shoulder flexion and your scapula is being raised a bit and then needs to be depressed on the concentric.

your chest and biceps gets a nice stretch when you reach back into flexion on the eccentric of the lift (bringing it overhead). But the actual concentric portion of the lift where you are moving the weight against gravity is shoulder extension which is going to work your lats, teres major and triceps.

I was using a close grip on a curl bar. Maybe I will try to a DB. But I don't see how shoulder movement would hurt the back of my elbow.

triceps cross the shoulder and they attach at the elbow. If you are tight they could be feeling that stretch really bad. They could be getting agraveted by the angle you are placing them in.
