    Bent over row grip?

I was doing bent over rows today at the gym and after my first set some guy came over and told me my grip was too close and since im wider i should have a wider grip. he instructed me to keep my grip wider than my shoulders as opposed to even with my shoulders. Was he correct?

I do mine shoulder width. Whether you do them underhand or overhand also makes a difference , to the muscles you hit.(I use both positions)

I used to do them wider, but it feels more comfortable when I keep my arm at about shoulder width. If you go too wide, which will cause your elbows to flare out, then you place more emphasis on your rear delts as opposed to your lats.
