Make sure you're not doing too much volume for squats. I like low volume high intensity workouts so I do SLDLs directly after ATG squats.
Just wanted to get the forum's thoughts on doing quads one day and hamstrings another day. Personally, I have found that I am too tired after a hardcore squat routine to do anymore legs, expecially SLDL, so Ive recently started splitting them. Any thoughts??
Thank you in advance.

I like splitting hamstrings (hip dominant) and quads into two workouts. That way I can work squats one day and deadlifts another, and also work on keeping the legs balanced since it is easy to become focused on the thighs to the detriment of the hamstrings.Originally Posted by PTYP
If you put the deadlift under the category of legs, then I also split up legs. I have squats and SLDLs on one day and deadlifts on another. I used to have squats followed by deadlifts, but they have too much leg involved. This way with SLDLs I don't even have to move my legs to do the exercise so I can still go heavy.

I model much of my workouts after the teachings of Ian King, which is why I think in terms of Hip Dominant and Quad Dominant. His book The Book of Muscle is excellent and easy to get. On the other hand, I've studied his Get Buffed Books I, II and III quite a bit.
i do quads every sunday and split it up with back/hammies on wednesday. since I've done this-my hams have blown up in a year's time to where they are no longer a weak spot on my physique.

I work legs and back on the same day twice a week. After I'm done this old fuck feels like a 100 year old man for two days

I do them in the same workout. If you cant do them because your quads are dead just do hamstrings before you work the quads
