you need to start doing some plyometrics and things similar in nature that will stimulate fast twitch fibers in your calves and hams. High intentisty/shorter activities (i.e. sprinting) will do so. Other than that, lots of hamstring and calf work in the gym and that squat rack will do the trick

You want to jump higher, practice the act. I played volleyball in high school and my first limited stint in college.

In the Junior Olympics in Orlando in 1995 I had a 39" vertical. All I ever did for "training" was practice. It's like trying to dunk a basketball. You don't do squats or train your calves if you want to be able to dunk. You practice your moves on the baseline and you jump to dunk.

Anyways, here's some visual for you...

They work wonders. I'm white, 5'11, and when about 20lbs heavier than I'd like to be can dunk a ball...

don't just start doing plyos and jumping around. get someone to analyze your form and how you jump. You can add inches to your vertical simply by changing your technique.
