100 Percent

Do you feel that your workouts are at 100 percent. Sometimes between sets I get lost in another world. then I wake out and it time to get busy again. I wonder if I'm giving it 100 percent. All I know after I'm done with my workout, I'm exhausted.

It depends on how i feel. Sometimes i feel very tired or have a shitty day as far as not eating enough, having enough water, or dread going to the gym. 9 out of 10 times i'll have a 100% workout but every once in a while i'll have a shitty workout. Like sometimes, ill put up numbers that i usually do, if not put up new personal records. Other times, i cant even do 1 rep of a certain weight im used to. So what helps me stay motivated is visualizing how i am going to look a few years from now.

I usually feel like I've put in 100% but here the past coulpe of days I get this shooting pain through my left forearm. Totally interrupts my workout. I usually end up cutting reps short or dropping the weight to reduce the pain.

I wonder if it's tendonitis? Would one of those forearm wrap thingies help?

Whit never tried one. i have a left torn rotator cuff right now and the pain is crazy when doing pressing movements. I also tore a double tendon below and above my left elbow in Dec. I use a knee band and fold it in to and where it on the elbow when doing any pressing movements. that seems to help the elbow some but the rotator cuff, can't find nothing to help it. all my pressing movements are down by 50% and i now do 10-15 reps with what ever weight i can handle.

Since I started training more for functionality I have given no less than 100% for an entire workout 2x a week.

If sense were common, everyone would have it.

its all about mental focus. when you begin to feel yourself drift off, you fous yourself back in. lifting weights can be as strenuous mentally as it can be physically. the harder you push yourself mentally and fight your minds natural urges and go beyond, the farther you will go. its a mental art, your body is the tool and the medium.

TOM-

With functionality, I mean I am training to be quick, explosive, well conditioned, etc... IMO, most BBers lack this.

I think 100% is something almost nobody ever sees, that gives you something to strive for.

No, it's more like a sharp stabbing pain shooting up the length of my forearm. It only hits me when I'm using heavier weights. Bicep Curls, Tricep Presses, any arm movement with HEAVY weight and it kills me. If I drop the weight down, to say, 65% of my max, it doesn't hurt nearly as bad.

Yea, I probably should follow suit and just be content with pressing a lighter weight for more reps. It just frustrates me to know I have more to give but can't due to this damn pain.

I wonder if this is Carpal Tunnel? Shit I should just go see my doctor and see what he says I guess. Problem is, I'm stubborn like that and only go see the doctor if I'm in mortal danger.

physically i am almost at optimum level unless i'm injured... mentally its a different story. ill still be able to put out as far as my strength is concerned, but sometimes i just dont feel good or feel like i cant have the strength i do on a particular day in the gym (even though in reality the strength is there), its weird.

Heres how I train.

PT, what up. Well it really depends on how much sleep I got the night before. I could feel like crap and be really tired and give 100% but it wouldn't be as much as if I would be if I were feeling 100%

I think the person who thinks 100% is unattainable is about to get lazy of boredom. Poopface.
