What do you think of Tai Bo

I started using the Tai Bo advanced dvd a week ago, along with night jogs and a reduced calorie diet, and ive lost 3 1/2 lbs!

I wanted to know, what do you guys think of Tai Bo?

If Tai Bo works for you, then great , but the only cardio that works for me is running a 3.5 kilometre circular route around the neighborhood, because I know that the only way to get home is to keep on jogging (as opposed to shutting off a tape, or getting off the treadmill from being bored hehe).

So you started exercising...

...and you lost 3.5 lbs...

Congratulations, but...
I really don't think Billy Blanks had aaaaaaanything to do with it

Any overall body workout will give similar results

Tai Bo is a fun for of cardio for some. My Wife really loves it! But then, she's into kick-boxing so this form of cardio fits her interests.

I enjoy Tai Bo as well but I usually run for my cardio. The military doesn't grade me on the number of side-step kicks I can do in a minute however my run-time is crucial!

3.5 lbs a week is great ! make sure you are eating a decent size of protein with each meal. I aim for 1.5 grams per lb of LBM.

weight loss is typically rapid at first then tapers off. how much are you looking to lose ?

when i 1st started cutting i would lose anywhere from 2.5-5 lbs a week. There were some days where i would be one weight in the morning and then the next day i was down 2 lbs and i'd be like WTF?!?! then be like oh well i guess lol. Then it slowly started to slow down lol, 1-2 lbs a week and then it just stopped altogether for about a month and a half i couldnt lose a thing. So finally i said fuck it and i ate everything in sight for about 2 wks lol (only gained 3 lbs tho) and now i'm back in fat burning mode full force!! But congratz on the 3.5 lbs keep it up!!

Tae Bo is an awesome workout... haven't done it in a couple of years but when I went from 29% bf to 14% in 7 weeks that was the cardio I was doing.

I guess I sort of dislike TB

I figure, if your going to practice all those kicks and moves wouldn't you rather
just do a real kick boxing, boxing, or some other martial arts workout????!!??

The results would be better because it is harder work...

Those type of skills teach, discipline, mastery of the body, mental focus,
and a ton of flexibilty

And in the end you might be able to defend yourself, or compete for a
trophy or something

I hear what you're saying but I think it depends on your purpose for doing it in the first place... is it to learn some techniques - then you'd definately be better off taking a specific discipline but for weight loss and cardio that's fun ( ha, I think that's an oxymoron!!! ) and that I could do at home it was great, all I wanted was to get my fat ass down the least painful way possible and machines are so daunting.
