I'm HAVING A HARD ONE WITH THIS~!

I just read an article on cutting. It said while training with weights on a cutting diet you should drop all cardio. They made the statement that the weight training would take care of the cardio for heart purposes and doing anymore then that could result in losing LBM. What do you all think?

TOUGH

not at all. now there are definetly types of cardio that I wouldn't do or do that often on a cut. but HIIT cardio for instance would be very beneficial on a cut because it increases the BMR and increase GH, which is very anti-catabolic.

Dumbest statement made in the Anabolic Zone for Nov

i see lots of articles that say shit like that too. but then i think about people i know that are cops and firemen, and those shows about SeALs that show some training, and if you look at a lot of these guys not only are they big and ripped but they can swim 20 miles in choppy surf with an colt m4 on their back.
the body is pretty resilient, and can adapt if you give it the effort.

Thread killer.

Idealy, you wouldn't have to do cardio if your diet was perfect and you were upping your reps on your workouts and doing a lot of supersets. But ideal situations rarely arise in our endevous. Thus comes in cardio to fill in the gaps. There is such a thing as too much cardio, especially when you aren't running any anabolics with your cutting.

I think it depends on the person, I never did any cardio when I competed naturally, and was 10lbs away from contest shape year round.

Doing a reasonable amount of cardio will enhance the fat burning process, keep you healthier, and will not cause a loss in LBM.

Hey boss when cutting as I have been doing now for 7 months what do you consider reasonable amount. I find that everyday i have less and less energy especially as I cycle carbs. 3 days a week no carbs, 2 days 150 carbs and 2 days I load.
PT

Reasonable would be 3 x per week for 30 minutes.

When I cut down for my shows I lost a LOT of bodyfat with no cardio at all. The last eight weeks or so I added it in and it did good thing.
