Opinions on my training split
I have been doing the following 4-day training split for the last couple months:
Day 1: Legs, Abs Day 2: Back Day 3: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps Day 4: Biceps, Forearms I used to do back, biceps, forearms on the same day, but never felt I worked my biceps enough, so I split it off into two days. Now, after doing chest, shoulders, and triceps today, I felt I needed to move shoulders to a different day, as I don't feel my shoulders have been getting worked enough with chest and tricep workouts. I considered moving shoulders to back day, since my posterior delts get worked well with back, but if I do this, should I move the chest/triceps workout? Opinions? |

Functional Lifting = Life

I wouldn't do back after legs, but that's just me. Personally, I like to have at least one day of rest after back and at least two after legs. That's just my opinion, so if that works for you then keep on doing it.

hey,
I like how you experiment with your programs. also its nice to see legs and back at the front of a routine!! you never see that!! but like squaggle said, you could be overtraining there but you didnt post tour program.. so.. my initial reaction to your question is, why dont you split your shoulder. work the rear and traps with your back and bi's, and the front and side with your chest and tris????????????? ![]() |

Myk - currently, my shoulder routine is split. Rear delts get worked w/ back (day 2) and front and side get worked on chest, shoulder, tricep day (day 3). I've tried to do bis w/ back, but found that doing back would fatigue the biceps too much for me to get a good workout.
Michael - If I throw shoulders with leg day, do you think I should move abs to back day? The only thing that bothers me about moving shoulders w/ legs is that my leg day already takes me forever (either the longest workout or second longest workout next to chest tris shoulders). |
