working obliques......
high reps, right?
for oblique workouts i do side bends with 70lb DBs, 15 reps/ side, or those side bends on that back extension chair holding a 25 lb weight, 15/ side, med ball twists, sitting down, back at 45degree angle, feet off the ground, 30-35 reps, or this torso rotary machine that i do 30 reps/ side. sound good? ya don't wanna do low reps with heavy weight and build that shit up too much, huh? |

Why wouldn't you want to build up your obliques? Oblique visibility is highly attractive according to many women.
To determine if you training routine is right, ask yourself if you are closing to acheiving your goals now than you were before you started your routine. |

Functional Lifting = Life

I'm never sure how far down to go for side bends... Also, should you do it with one dumbbell in each hand or one at a time? It seems as though with two, the weight is just being balanced so you're not working very hard. If it is with one, should you still go down both ways no matter which hand it's in?

Only hold one weight. Otherwise you have the counterweight helping you. I bend as far as I can go.
