This friday the 22nd I'm leaving for 1 week on vacation. So that means no gym for me. I wont have access to a gym for 1 week so what cold I do to keep my muscle's and my strength the same?

When was the last time you took a 2 week break from lifting?

relax kid, take the week off. You're not going to lose muscle and strength in 7 days. In fact, you will probably be stronger when you come back if u eat right.
If you're really paranoid about it, do pushups, (pullups if you can) or some plyometric workouts. But what do i know. "I have zero to say about lifting weights" .. as if you know anything about my life. *chuckles* |

I read somewhere that for every 1 week you take off, it will take you 3 weeks to get back to the level you once were at(NOT after 3 months of training).. I dont know how true this is.. but when I went to vegas for a week.. I came back to find out that my bench as actually went down, took me about a month to regain the strength that I had lost(this is after 2 months of training from my last break, so maybe thats why I lost the numbers I had)

Getting shitfaced for a week isn't the same as taking a 1 week break, I should know. ![]() As for the initial question, where are you going? If I were you I would go to a batting cage, play some football/basketball, any type of sport activity. |

Functional Lifting = Life

I agree with the above that you'll probably be stronger when you come back. I took a one week break for a vacation and I came back and did the planned workout (with weight added from the last one).

taking a week off will do wonders for you. Just keep your diet in par and enjoy yourself. Ive taken up to 3 weeks off and come back stronger with greater motivation. Dont bother yourself with pushups or pullups or other bascially useless bodybuilding exercises... just relax, maybe shoot some hoops and have fun.
