    Upper Body

I'm 17 about 5'7 and 135lbs I have gained some size in my chest by doing push-ups and my abs were flat at one point but I stop doing sit-ups I can see my abs but very little now. I would like to know what exercise and about how many reps I can do to increase my chest size and flatten my abs at home because their are no gyms close to my house within a month or so.

I'm 16 and had the same stats as u a little while ago...... I didnt use to go to the gym.....I'd do push ups in sets of 100... I used to use some barbells n dumbells at my house but guessing u dont have any (not mentioned in your post).....I'd say do pull ups , dips ( liek ur sitting in a chair n u slide off the front of it-put ur palms on the front corners of the chair with ur legs extended, try to get ur ass as close to the ground as u can by lowerin urself with ur arms.....thatl get ur shoulders burning, try to start out with 25 in a rep n work ur way up....I'd do four reps of this....push ups start at 4 reps of what ever you can do and work ur way up.....do sit ups liek u used to prolly 4 reps or what ever u can do once.....u can do six inches for ur bottom abs and that v line by ur crotch....lay flat on the ground and lift ur legs up ab 6 inches while keepin the rest a ur body flat, hld this as long as u can safely. u can do push ups with ur feet on something liek a bed or a chair-i have heard this puts more of a challenge...Ib4 i went to the gym i had worked up t doing my push ups with oen hand and some upside down. upside down r really hard...maybe u could put something heavy on ur back n do pushups....i used to do that too.....sprints and lunges for ur legs.maybe holdin milk jugs fulla water or sand for the lunges.....the guys who knwo more ab it might critisize this because its not using weights....becasue it prolly wont do as much as weights do but it will work because i used to do it......but what worked for me might not for u....this gave me some results tho...ur best bet is prolly to get to a wal mart n buy soem dumbells. well all a this is just my ideas of body weight exercises

It's going to be pretty hard to gain size with no weights. You need progressive overload to get bigger and you can't do that with body weight exercises. You get abs from diet, not training.

i was prolly in better overall shape back when i could do all that....but dam the size and strength weights gets u is not even comparable to body weight exercise.....body weight exercises can add on some finishin touches tho...thats what i use em for anyhow....at nights i do push ups and sit ups in 4 alternating sets of 25....I'm gona add dips in pretty soon...maybe right now

Fat only comes from diet if you eat things that are fat or turn into fat...Abs come from diet AND training; If your young and have a fast metabolism, you may be able to get away with eating junk food if you train well and still see your abs, but that won't be the case when you get older.

As for gaining mass, I'd say join a gym, there is no substitute for weight training.

I'd say BW exercises are better than nothing, but they'll only be able to get you so far.

Muscle uses calories, but not that many. You can't do ab exercises and loose fat on your abs. You have abs because you have low body fat. If someone doesn't have abs they have high body and to loose body fat you need a good diet.
