    Bad Dips

Whenever I do dips I can manage about 6 before I start getting a really intense stabbing pain in the center of my chest. I don't know what it is but it makes me incapable of doing anymore. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Thats a new one on me. Does the same thing happen when doing bench pressing. Are you using the bar dips for chest or for tri's. There is two different methods for bar dips. 1 straight up and down and one leaning forward.

Like 2 in 20 kids would have that when I had weight training finals doing my student teaching

I had them do X amount of pullups, dips, and weighted step ups for a final exam to see that they progressed

Keep trying you should be able to overcome it in time

This also happend to me for a month or two, it feels like your sternum has tons of stress on it. I think it might just take time to overcome. I only do dips for triceps by the way.
