    The Crossbow Resistance

does anyone know if the resistance on a crossbow would be the same as that on freeweight?

it. lifting 200 lbs on a crossbow is the same as that freeweight

because i could only max bench 180 lbs using freeweights and then i tried a crossbow and i could rep that almost effortlessly

is this a technique thing or is the resistance lighter or not the same on a

    crossbow?

im not sure about the crossbow, but i own a bowflex... 200 lbs on a bowflex is not 200 lbs of iron. i assume bowflex and crossbow offer similair resistance.

    Don't worry about it Assman!

too many people get caught up with little things like this...do not overcomplicate!!

The three main principles of getting big:

    1) FOOD, LOTS OF IT

    2) HARD INTENSE TRAINING (free weights!!!)

    3) PLENTY OF REST (for mind too, not just body)

too many people overcomplicate building muscle, follow these three simple steps

    and you will grow!!

think of it like this; in 6 months from now you will have a bigger and/or better body if all goes to plan...will the answer to your questions above have any implications to this?
    NO

    don't worry about it buddy

You bench 180 now. Thats not bad. Keep eating and lifting and you will get 220.

    what's better;

    a) buff body

    b) able to lift 220lb

    hrmmm a) every time thanks!

it's not what you lift but how you lift.

Don't get caught up by the "how much do you bench?" crap. In the end nobody cares.

    hrmmm put it like this;

Somebody meets a very ripped massive bodybuilder and somebody who can bench press a lot

Which man will leave a lasting impression?

btw do you have any little pre lift routines that you do before a lift?

is there something you say to yourself in your head right before you lift, i stopped

weight training for about 2 months and now im having trouble getting the adrenaline

    flowing again

when im about to lift, i just look back to the ronnie coleman movies and it gets me pumped (i lift at home most of the time, so) i just start getting pumped and screaming and then grab it and the weight feels about half as heavy.

lol i am not wise assman!

i just think logically. Thanks for the compliment!

When i am just about to do a heavy squatting session or deadlifting session (heavy relative to me) i grit my teeth, swear out loud (i don't care if people here, fcuk em)
and start tugging at the bar a bit then i go for it.

In the middle of a set if i require a few more reps, i just think to myself 'IF YOU GET ANOTHER REP YOU WILL LOOK LIKE RONNIE COLEMAN' - this is not true of course but puts me in the mindset to lift it!

Lifting heavy ass weights is all in the mind.

As soon as you get past the phychological barrier of lifting a new higher weight you have not lifted before it gets easier.

for example i was sh!t scared when i attempted to squat 220lbs for the first time at 119lbs bodyweight, I managed to do one rep!

Next week i squatted two sets of 220lbs x 8 , it's all in the mind mate!

That's very true. That's why whenever I'm spotting someone who's maxing, I just ask them if they can do more weight, add some more, and when they ask how much there is, I say "It doesn't matter. Do it." and that usually helps.
