So...maybe I made my heartrate too high.

I do a lot of cardio. Normally the bike and swimming. I try to ride 3-4 hours on either saturday or sunday outside. During the week...got my nice gym.

I would consider myself in fairly decent cardiovascular shape. That being said, when I'm in the gym I push myself so much more than when I'm really biking outside, mainly because of time constraints.

Without blabbering too much more, I'm 24, 145 lbs...is it retarded to have my heartrate average around 165 with peaks of around 195? Is my heart going to explode forcing me to die a not so happy way?

While running CC I hit 224 and stayed there for 4 minutes naturally and I'm fine....fine...fine...fine(we used heart monitors). I have a high rest rate though. You should be ok.
