    cardio on a light breakfast?

I want to cut away at my flab around my belly. At 6' 6" I hide it very well standing up, but when seated or bending over my extra belly flab is quite hideous. I was wondering if doing cardio or working the abs on a light breakfast or even an empty stomach will burn away the fat I need to loss. I don't want to jeopardize lean muscle around other areas of my body, so I was wondering if this is a good idea or not.

For example, doing a shitload of ab work in the morning right after I wake up. Can this work?

There are 2 opinions on this. 1 opinion is that when you go right in the morning before you eat, you burn fat instead of carbs. this has worked for me i guess but you might not get as intense of a cardio work out. the other opinion is that the body resorts to muscle tissue instead of fat and your body eats that up instead. before my morning jog, to be on the safe side, i will have 1 scoop protein whey in water. that way im not getting to many carbs, but im giving my body protein so it doesnt eat my hard earned muscle
