muscle recruitment question
I read in an article (cant remember where) that doing pullups would be better than doing lat pulldowns, because the muscle recruitment is different. the article didnt go into any detail why, but i was curious if anyone here knew the difference and could explain it, or give me a place to look. thanks.

Lat pulldowns aren't a free weight exercise. There's your answer right there - free weights dominate everything else as far as stabilizers, muscle recruitment, and everything else that actually matters. Without knowing the actual details of the movements, I'd say that pull ups are better.
