What muscles does this excersise work?

I have a question about this excersise.

You place a db in each hand in front of you then bend your arms at a 45 degree angle so there about touching below your belly button. Then you keep your arm slightly bent and lift them up over your head. Like lateral raises but with your arms bent. I not talking about where you bend your elbows and do db lifts up to your chin. In this excercise you keep your elbows slightly bent and rotate your arm up over your head so at the end of the lift the db is directly above your head. Sorry but that was the best i could explain it.

What is this exercise called and what does it work. I feel it working the back of my shoulders but also my back itself. What day should i be doing these on back day or delt day.

Well Arnolds don't start down by the belly button though. He said it was like lateral raises but with the arms bent, so maybe look up what muscles the lat raises work and it should be the same ones but with less strain because the arms are bent. Maybe...?

What i'm talking about is while standing arms bent at about a 45 degree angle you rotate your arms up so the dumbells are up by your ears. There not like lateral raises in the way you dont just lift your arms up you lift up then rotate your shoulder so its looks kinda like your biceps are being flexed at the side of your head.

Is this a shoulder excercise or back exercise. i feel it working both but just wondering what it is targeting.

have you been doing this exercise? do you use much weight with it? i find, though i rarely do them, that they work a bit better with cables. what made you decide to do an exercise you didnt know about? probably a good way to learn. if it is what i think it is, i see some benchers doing them.

I saw it at my buddies house on a Ronnie Coleman work out video. Like i said i know what two muscles are being worked but i don't no what day to be doing the excercise on. I feel it working the back of my delts and the muscles on top my shoulder blade too what ever those are called.

What is the name of this excercise you think i'm speaking of, i can then look it up on a search engine, find pics and see if we're talking about the same thing.

Nope, rotor cuff, rear delt fly's don't end up by your ears. At least I hope they don't, there would have to be a serious problem with your anatomy.

You should never, ever feel that in your back. If this is the case then the poster is using FAR too much weight. Elbows should never move, only rotate if this is the case.
