Any real justification for behind the head lat pull?

    Any real justification for behind the head lat pull?

    I kind of like them more than in front, I feel I can get a more controlled rep in... Input?

    It has no differant effect on how the lat is stimulated when compaired to pulldowns/ups in the front.......its just old school and dangerous to the shoulders.

    Ever try any single lat pulls. Sit sideways on bench, reach over with right arm PULL. Do same for left side. "EEVIL"

    Actually there is a difference, in the pulling down to the front you can accomplish a greater degree of scapular retraction than when doing them behind the back. Do to the front, if not for that reason, for the reason Foreman mentioned.

    Foreman, I can't do them behind the neck, because my traps are so huge they extend over my head and I can't get the bar past them.

    Pulldowns to the front isolate your upper lats better, thats why I'll never do and have never done behind the neckers
