    hack squats

I'm not really familiar with this exercise, I saw some people in another thread talkin about this, and was just wondering what it was. I googled it, and found two different things. I'll post links to both, and would appreciate it if someone could tell me which one it is, and what the other one is.

both are the same exercise, although I prefer to do them with the sled. one of my most favorite leg exercises. you can totally concentrate on the eccentric portion of the lift
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I've tried both BB and the Sled and both of them seem to place a ton of pressure on my knees (with REALLY light weight) .

I don't particularly like either one. I much prefer olympic or PL squats. Not that it is a bad movement, but I just don't really like 'em. Give both of them a try and see which you prefer.

i agree with cowpimp. it seems, imo, that there are quite a few people who complain about hacksquats hurting their knees. i have found this too, as well as with the leg sled. i stick to good old-fashioned squats, front squats, and snatch-squats (overhead squats.) i liken the hack squat to squatting with the heels on a board or a weight plate.. too much pressure on the knees for me.
