Power balls

i am starting the gym again next week after a month out due to no work, so glad to be going back, however i was also looking at purchasing a power bal, half because of the fun competetive side, but they also say it promotes growth, muscle "toning" among other things, just wanted you opinion or views on these as to weather they are good good to increase muscle density etc,

Maybe I'm just missing the whole gist of it, but it seems pretty pointless to me. What is it supposed to help with? Grip work? Arm strength?

Muscle toning is a term for people who dont work out, then later start to partake in some mild physical activity and can see something after a few weeks.

Muscle is muscle, you dont tone it. You are fat, not fat, or somewhere in between.

Yeah. I know someone who could do it in about 55 seconds and he was about 14. Someone else I know can do it in I think 32.
