Question wieght loss plateu-experts wanted

ok, ive heard alot of mixed responses to this question :can you over train when doing aerobic exercises? i have been trying to go at least 5-6 times to the gym for cardio and 3-4 times a week for weights. whenever i do cardio, i like to get my moneys worth so i am on it for about an hour and i really like to do the eliptical machine(in a 60 minute workout with 5 minute cool off i burn around 1100 calories!) so technicly im burning 5500+ calories a week from just exercise(i also eat less/healthy) is this too much? can i slow down my weight loss by training 5-6 times a week on the eliptical machine for an hour each day? can it be bad to only use that machine? thanks all.

Counting cals is a must. Otherwise, you lose track, eat too little and you metabolism grinds to a halt. As for exercise, you are overtraining. With three days weight training a week, plus only 1500kcals a day, combined with 5 days of one-hour cardio sessions.

So you're eating about 1,500 calories a day, but you're burning 1,100 of those calories? How are you still alive?

Doing the same machine is not bad. I've been using the treadmill for years and I can still lose fat. Your body does not adapt to exercise like it does to weight training.

www.fitday.com is a site. Never used it, but I see it come up here a lot.
