I thought stretch marks only came when you stopped working out and lost muscle mass.

Stretch marks come from someone getting bigger which causes the skin to 'stretch'....

Your skin has a certain elasticity. There are things you can do to remove some of that like smoking (really stupid), or tanning. When you remove the elasticity and then stretch the skin it stretches beyond the point it will return and you permanently damage it. They will not go away, all you can do is lighten them.

i agree with what your saying about gaining weight too fast but I believe stretch marks come from gaining wieght too fast and then loosing weight to fast and not allowing the skin to naturally shrink with the body. thats just my opinion

How do you explain women who are pregnant though? Don't they get stretch marks during the pregnancy?

Yes. The skin is stretched beyond what it can handle. Some skin types are more susceptible to stretch marks than others.

Well I dont know if your trying to jump my shit for having an opinion but here is my opinion for pregnant women is that the skin is stretched and then the baby is born and then theres nothing there to slowly bring it back down to normal size.

I believe stretch marks come from growing faster than your skin can accomodate. It's better to have them than to have burst thru your skin. Some people may never have any marks while others look like a road map.
If you've noticed or not, some pregnant women never get one mark on them & others look like one big stretch mark. It's all about your skins elasticity & the moisture level of it.A good moisturizing lotion will help immensely i.e. vitamin c,e cream. There are even skin firming lotions on the market now.I know most guys don't think lotion is for girls, but healthy looking skin makes all your hard work in the gym look that much better.

I did some research earlier today and I may have been somewhat wrong. I can admit that I was wrong. But you really dont have to come off as being arogant. Im not trying to flame either so dont take offense
