    Tricep Bar Routine help!!!!

Okay. All I have at home is a tricep bar with 80 lbs of free weights. I have started training again 3 weeks ago and need to know what are some good exercises I can do with it. Currently I am doing arm curls (close and wide grip), Presses from chest to fully extending up above head and laying on floor(bench style).

    I am 33 yrs old.
    5'7"
    169lbs
okay figure with a sad belly.. about 1 inch pinch that sticks out. :|
I have been eating properly - 5 times a day
I am looking to build arm, chest, shoulders, back and abs! Knees have both been broke and can nolonger do strength exercises on legs. excpet for fast paced walking on tread!

Any and all help is appreciated!

If you want to add a significant amount of mass, then you are going to be hard pressed to do so with only 80 pounds of weights.

lat rows, behind head military presses, over head french presses,
overhand curls, upright rows, shrugs (front & behind), ETC
(try most of these kneeling and standing as you don't have a bench)

If you are not in a wheel chair, you should also do Squats & deadlifts

I think if I had two broken knees, this would stop me from doing leg work as well, if only for fear of further injury.

I really don't understand the not being able to do leg exercises. I broke my right leg when I was 47, and I can support a truck on it. I think a lot to do with what you can, and cannot do is in your head. If I can, you can.

I broke mine in one of the worst places you can do it, right on top of the ankle. All the bones in my foot looked like a raffle ticket barrel. The doctor told me, mine would never be quite what it was. My answer to that was "bull shit".

I cried the first time I tried to walk a quarter mile, when the cast was removed. But I just got more determined. I rode my bicycle, did light squats, and hiked. At first I could not even tip toe, my heel would drop. But today the only remembrance of it I have, is one ankle is a little larger than the other.

Thanks for the input as far as more money! I agree. but without a bench I don't have to worry about more weight. within 2 months I should be able to have the equipment I need! Am I correct to think I can work out arms, shoulders, chest, neck, forearms and abs without a bench for 2 months? Thanks for the list of exercises also!!!! Much obliged!

As far as my knees go... I was in the Corps and blew one knee out hiking up mount muther fucker!!! No cartilage in knee! Was offered a new knee and will not go through with that until I am 50. (oh by the way--- you old poser... having a broken leg above the ankle is nothing compared to 2 knees that rub bone on bone-- everyday all day!)
The other knee was blown out by tossing garbage when i was working for local garbage company! So NO THANKS!!! WILL NOT and CAN NOT work lower legs!!!! My bones do not need to be any smoother!

Do you have disability points from the VA for those knees???

If so I would look into getting them fixed...

If you plan on living much longer, it will be worth it -

better to go through a surgery like that now, then when you are like 80 -
especially if you have pain 365-24-7

Currently getting 30% disability pay every month for the rest of my life. Because my son is 5 and I don't trust the military with the latest technologies I am not ready to get it done. I would like to be mobile for him! There is a knee replacement out there that you can start walking on it 3 days after placing it in however, the military don't use it yet!!! they figure just to pay us off rather than fixing it. The local Veterans group provide me with info every month about the latest and greatest... Nothing yet inspires me! LOL If I wait until I'm 80- I will never do it! and my current health provider won;t touch it since it is a past condition! Figures...

Well I don't want to start any arguments, but if that's all it took to blow out your knees, I can top all that any day.
As far as being OLD! all I can say is they just don't build them as tough as they used to.

When I first started training I was also had bad knees, although not as bad as yours (water retention) I was scared as hell to do squats.
Well my friend convinced me to start out light with just 85 pounds, well I kept on adding more weight and in just 3 months I was able to do 315 for reps.....that was the best thing I ever did for my knees, they made them stronger and being that I am on my knees all day they help.

They are now my strongest body part.

Good for you. Hopefully that'll encourage some people who might otherwise not do them.

I wish I had moved up in weight that quickly.
