Fucked up bench!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Bench sways up and down every time I try to do Bench Presses. I screw the bolt up tight, but it keeps on loosening itself.

Blue locktite, or red if you are never ever unscrewing it.

Yep, I used to use blue quite often. I knew a guy who used red on some tiny little hex nuts on poly-locks for his valvetrain, he never got to use THOSE again.

I think there are 3, maybe even 4. I have used red and blue, I believe there is purple, not sure about a 4th. Blue works on almost everything, red is about as permanent as you are going to get OR for something that is so damn large that you can impart large amounts of force on the bolt/nut in question that surpasses the strength of the red locktight.
One small droplet of blue is all almost anything needs, my polylocks never backed out. I'm not sure how brake calipers would do with the heat expansion, probably says something about that on the product though. Those types of bolts dont thread in loosely either anyway, but locktite is great stuff indeed. I have full floating calipers on my car so they dont back out all the way unless you force them too.Use with care! |
