How can walking help... and sum questions- answers would be apperciated.

How can walking help lose weight? How long will it take to lose weight if i kept on walking in the morning almost everyday for 20 minutes and then walking after eating dinner for 15-20 minutes....

Im getting my ymca membercard soon so once i get my ymca membercard- i will be going to the ymca every sunday for 2-3 hours to walk around the track, lift weight and swim laps (will that help me lose weight? and tone up?)

if you got any suggestion- let me know!

    1. What food should i be avoiding?

    2. can i eat 1 bowl of cereal with skim milk every other days?

    3. is it ok for me to eat bacon since one person told me that eating bacons everyday isnt good cuz its "oily"

    4. is it ok for me to eat Mandarin Chicken from panda express?

    5. how many time should i go out for a walk in the morning per week?

    6. (last one) How do i avoid my stomach showing 'bloated' looking which cause "bump" on my stomach after i eat--- it happens 1/2 of the time after eating- i HATE that since it makes me feel fat..

walking will burn calories which might result in a caloric deficit which is what is resposible for weightloss of any kind.

all the diet questions should really go into the diet forum, but posting your whole routine on here will help us help you with your routine which doesn't sound very thought out at all. instead of going 1x/week for 3 hours you should try and go 3-4 times a week, for maybe an hour or so. 2-3days of weight training and 1-2 of cardio will give much better results.

seems like you get enough aerobic activity if you ask me. with the 2 hour swim practices, i doubt walking will make much of a difference. just start lifting and the gains will be 10 times better than walking. if you don't want to lift you can do sprints or some other form of interval training.

As usual, Yanick's advice is spot on. However, the limiting factor is going to be your diet. Check out the diet section; there is a wealth of information available.
