    One Arm Barbell Curl

Is it better to use a barbell or a dumbell to one arm curl weights?

That is the funniest thing I heard, you can do 2 arm barbell curls, 2 arm ez-curl bar, dumbbell curls, concentrated curls, hammer curls. All kinds of things but a 1 arm BB curl is kinda weird.

But, wouldn't to require more strength to curl a barbell then a dumbell?

Some barbelle's are 7ft wide. Goodluck trying to hold that in your hand. Also it would require more strength for more weight.

Using Foreman's tried and tested Hypertrophinated Analgesiasticalation training I now use a barbell and 6 plates (3 per side). YOU CAN TOO!!!

never really tried. I don't see the point in spending time on something like that, with all the powerlifting movements, i don't do a great deal of direct arm work, other than close grip benches, pressdowns/dips, hammer curls.

It would take a great deal of overall hand and grip strength to balance it, but otherwise it seems pointless to use a barbell rather than a dumbbell with just one hand. There are many other things you can do to improve hand strength other than wasting a barbell with one-armed curls.

For me personally its DB curls.....less stress on the joints and a more natural movement.

I know, rofl. That would be super hard because 135lbs in 1 arm curl, I heard ronnie colemans max is like 75. Then you have the long ass bar to try and balance so I doubt that.

That's how I felt when I used to do direct work. Except I did hammer curls, not ordinary DB curls, because they have much more functional application.

Why struggle with all that ballancing act when you can do the same weight with Dumbbells?

See that is why I thought it was weird, if you do that while laying on the bench on your stomach, will you not get full ROM?

With one-arm Barbell Curls, you not only have lateral resistance, but Bi-Lateral. This particular exercise requires more hand strength, hence, improving development.

Seems to me it greatly increases your opportunities for serious injury.
