Question Opionions plz

Who out there can give me input I am considering buying a bowflex machine as it is considered a good machine for resistance training.
They say that all that is necessary for resistance training is 20 to 30 min every other day, then cardio with heart monitor to keep you in the fat burning zone.
Does anyone have bowflex if so is it a good investment?
And for those who considered and then opted out Why?
Thx-Gregshk

95% of the people here will tell you not to buy a bowflex machine!

Don't buy machines. Free weights are far superior for strength training. All of that 'getting tone' hype is one big myth. The only way to see more muscle definition is to decrease your BF%. There are two ways to do this: decrease your total BF or increase your total LBM. Each will bring the BF:LBM ratio closer to where it should be, and thus will bring you closer to seeing more definition.

I dont see how the flexing of a bow can have constant resistance.
If not then how can that be a good thing. Why would you want the weight to increase throughout a rep?

Actually powerlifters in Westside might disagree. Remember that they successfully use bands to increase weight throughout the big lifts. Of course, completely different situation, but still effective when used correctly.

Only the beautiful people buy BOW FLOPPERS. Why not invest your money in a sack of rocks, that would be better.

Actually, there are a lot of interesting things you can do with sandbags and strange objects like that. Strongman training is a lot of fun.

It's been my observation that the most effective resistance training you get from a *Bowflex* is the effort it takes to pick the fucker up and throw it out in the street.
