Bicycle Maneuvers
I've been doing these consistently as a way to hit my abs and obliques for a little core work. A week ago, I was in the middle of a set and my left hip felt as if something popped, and I had a pain run through it. I still completed the rest of the workout because it wasn't very bad, but for the next day I couldn't lift my leg up completely. Today I tried them again, thinking last week was a fluke, and my right hip popped. This time the pain was much worse and I stopped the workout immediately. I have to find a new ab exercise that'll hit the abs and obliques now, but is this a common thing? How could this have happened when it's not even a weighted (or seemingly dangerous) exercise? I have no idea how I always seem to be injured by easy things...

Has anyone had anything like this happen, or am I just extremely unlucky when it comes to the simple stuff?

My hip popped a while ago doing some jogging. It still bothers me ever so slightly now and again when I'm at work. I never had a bicycle crunch give me a problem though, although it has been quite a while since I've done one.

At least I'm not the only one to have gotten injured doing something like this. I also hurt my shoulder months ago in gym class (honestly, who gets injured in gym?) and it still bothers me pretty often. Luckily I'm going to a sports medicine doctor in a couple days, and maybe she'll have an answer.

Both my shoulders pop out, my hip pops out somehow, my wrists pop out. Thats about it that I know how to take out of its socket right now

I'd take a break from doing them for a while.

I plan to, but now I have to find something to hit the abs and obliques.
