I was just wondering how many of you incorporate other types of training into your programs besides the traditional use of barbells/dumbbells/machines. I'm talking about things like farmer's walks, tire flips, sled pulls etc. If so, what types of alternate training do you use?
By the way, my name is Sean and I look forward to being a member here. You can check out some of my pics here:
I do farmers' walks and I'm looking into getting a tractor tire for tire flipping. I also do car pushing occasionally, and I love olympic work, which isn't normal for most people. Some other things to do that are great for you are using strange objects like sandbags and pretty much anything else implemented in strongman training.
Push yourself. Enjoy yourself. Be yourself.
Knowledge is power. Obsessed with functional strength. Journal
chest and triceps
back, traps and calves
Off
shoulders and traps
legs
Off
Grip and biceps.
I do sandbag static holds with extra weight plates inside the duffle bag to make it heavier that's the only alternated training i do.
Wish i could do more strongman related things (like farmers walk etc) i don't have the opportunity or space however.
