    BFFM - Goal contradiction Q?

So i've completely grilled the book twice, and i've 1 question which i wasn't exactly sure?

Venuto says to not let goals of building mass and losing fat contradict. concentrate on only 1, but at the same time he says you should always lift weights.

    stats:
    25 yr old male
    155 lbs.
    14 %bf
    5"8'
calorie level for losing fat: 1900 appx.
calorie level for maint.: 2400 appx.
    diet ratio: 55% C, 25% P, 20% F

My Q is: do i lift weights a couple times a week during the initial losing fat stage and still ONLY eat 1900 calories? do i lift on the days when i bring my calories up to maintenance? do i not lift weights until i've hit single digit bf? do i just lift a couple times a week just to make sure that i don't lose any lbm while trying to lose bf?

I think really all of the above questions represent only 1, but nonetheless, i would appreciate some feedback from the experienced ones around here.

    thx,
    immigrant

yes you always lift weights. the goal while cutting is to retain as much LBM as possible which means you need to keep the stimulus (aka the weights) which brought that LBM to begin with.
