In all that science stuff that you've learned does it say that weightlifting stunts growth? My dad is 5'11 and my mom is 5'6... I'm like 5'8, I am only 13 , but i am just wondering since you know about all that science shit...and you are young like me...Have you grown at all since you've started lifting? Thanks

When I started I was 5'7, now I'm 5'9.

It's BS.

I to started lifting weights at 13 years old, I'm 5'11" now which is about the height I should be given my genetics.

I've also seen studies that show young teens that lift heavy can have a pre hardening of the bones causing growth to end sooner but in my case anyway it didn't happen.

I think the best thing at your age would be to keep the weight down a bit and work on form, work on compound lifts and don't worry so much about isolation movements till you build a good foundation.

I think he should lift as hard as he can and as effectively as possible to take advantage of the hormones that are peaking...

I disagree, being young and inexperienced, (sorry but you are) lifting heavy could very well lead to an injury that could end lifting for a long time.

Work on your form, not your ego.

Who said anything about lifting for your ego? I said lifting to grow, and lifting to grow requires heavy weight. You can lift in proper form with heavy weight and if you do this lifting heavy is no more likely to cause an injury than lifting light.

I am young, I wouldn't consider myself inexperienced training for 3 years, but ok.
