    giving blood

I was wondering if any of you who are BB's have given blood. If so, is it best not to do it before you work out? How long do you have to wait before working out again? Do I need to disclose that my blood is 90% creatine?

When giving blood you need to disclose everything about your diet(eg. Smoking, Alchohol, food, etc...) Giving Blood possibly won't affect routines.

Many people have problems walking after giving blood much less pumping iron. I'd take the day off and probably the day after just to let your energy come back up slowly.

I agree with Mudge. Think about the things that blood can do, including delivering oxygen to your body. Your muscles need oxygen to work. When there is less blood, they get less oxygen. This means that they will probably not perform as well as they usually do. Along with that, many people get dizzy, pass out, and have all sorts of problems with everyday things like walking, as Mudge already said.

Yes, all that iron and nutrients as well as nutrient and oxygen carrying ability GONE just like that. Let your body recouperate for awhile lest you make yourself sick.

I used to donate blood regularly, never felt any effect but used to take the day off of training for safety sake.

Probably because you donated regularly. Maybe you had adverse effects the first couple times and then got used to it. Or maybe your body just doesn't really become too affected by it.

Its going to depend on how much someone has to start with as well as what their nutritional regimen is like, how quickly they 'rebuild' lost blood and so on.

I pass the fuck out when I give blood. Gave it twice, and its just not worth it to me.
