Tendonitis!?!?

I have been increasing the overall volume of training in my split
in order to try to squeeze in more technique work and a general conditioning
familiarization with the exercises in my split...

Doing this has caused me to overtrain...
No shit!? How else are you going to get anything done?

But now I am feeling electrical type pain in my forearms,
the pit of my elbow, and mildly in my shoulder!!??

the way the pain is stretched over such a distance and that it is such a sharp sensation
makes me think its a tendonal or some sort of nerve pain

Has any one had Wrist Tendonitis or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome???

Can you describe the symptoms?

I had this same problem with my forearms and elbows (pit of). I fixed it (at least I think I did) by doing more back work--bent over rows and such. I don't know why that fixed it, but I no longer have those pains---they hurt like hell to the point where I couldn't do a pull up if I tried.

I've got tendonitis, I just dont do anything anymore that makes it flare up. Im afraid the only thing you can do is rest it untill its completely healed, and use ice on it.

If this is what I am feeling here...

I know the only way is rest
A friend of mine, a Pianist, had it bad..
He sought a Chinese doctor who gave him some weird stretches
and herbs...

(this was a last resort, he said it was the only thing that helped him heal,
and he had seen some top specialists, in Detroit & Boston)

I can only guess its what you have, because those are the symptoms. Are there any specific activities or movements that make it flare more than others? Mine usually takes a good 2 weeks to heal after I have inflamed it, so it really sucks. You usually have to just find ways around it. Good luck

I've also had trouble with tendonitis in the elbows. I feel a sharp pain in the pit of the elbow that radiates up my forearm. I've found that it was caused by the way I did certain exercises. As long as I've kept extremely strict on elbow positioning, I don't get it anywhere as bad as I used to. Preacher curls was one exercise that did it to me, and I had to make sure I kept my elbows positioned so that my arms stayed perpendicular to the bench. If they flared out at all, I'd get the pain. Lying tricep extensions is another one. Again, I have to be strict in keeping the arms and elbows straight.

When I do get the pain, I have to back off and let it heal. There is really no other way around it. I have used lr3-igf-1 before, and it helped me heal faster.

doesn't sound like tendonitis. Sounds more like a nerve. What exercises agravate it the most? Snatches?

well that sounds more like tendonitis then an "electrical" currtent shooting down your arm.

I'm guessing it's from two heavy days of Olympic lifting...

Throwing wrist & grip articulations into other movements...

Adding extra "technique" sets on odd days, in an attempt to master Olympic form...

Using the Ironmind gripper, all morning before my daily WO's...

I know I am over training, because I have systematically removed all
the callusses on my hands, and replaced them with bleeding holes and blisters -

well....

1) don't do two heavy days a week.
2) stretch
3) be patient with the lifts. no need to do more and more technique.
4) lower the volume of the grip work
5) ice
6) rest

No shit, Dick Tracy...

Yesterday was the first day of those weird pains...
I did want to push it to redline, so I guess I found out what that was

I am skipping any weights today...

I am going to go a week of light stuff + I really want to stick those
cleans & snatches to balance, so form only -

I have to stop running also until I can figure out how to position my
feet low into the lifts to remove some of the strain from my knees
