Two leggy questions

K...where to start.

1) How many ppl do Hack Squats using a barbell? I wanna give this a shot but was wondering, wouldn't such a movement put on alot of pressure on our Traps and entire Back since it's pretty much a Deadlift?

2) When doing Hamstring Leg Curls, do you position the pad which you rely on the back of ankles to lift, or do you position the pads where it is on the back of your calves? Which is better?

Keep on going...

for the hamstring curls, it starts at my ankle, and rolls to my hams, that way I can do the whole range of motion. if i dont, then the pad rolls into the joint and I can only do a partial rep.

regarding the leg curls, at my gym the machine is positioned so you are in a seated position with your legs straight out and another pad locks on your quads and you press down. in the past in the lying position the pads start at the ankles and roll all the way up to the knees.

I've never tried, seen hacks done with a bb, only on a hack squat machine so I can't comment on that.

The leg curl at my gym is a lying one, I put the pad at my ancles and at the top of my motion it is at the bottom of my calves, doen't really roll up that far, must be the way the machine is made.

Cool

I find it hella harder to do when the pad is locked on my calves, but I can handle more weight with pad on ankles. The latter position is more comfortable too.
