I completely agree with you, to the letter man.
However, a lot of people will come in here who do not agree. So be ready for some nasty comments.

I wouldn't blame steroids; I would blame humans.
Steroids didn't publish those magazines with implications that their supplement is going to make you look like the guy holding the bottle. Greedy corporate executives are the ones publishing these magazines.
Steroids don't tell people to use them when they are competing in a natural show. People with no sense of fair play and/or a lack of confidence are the ones who fake their drug tests.
Like you said, steroids can be used responsibly, as can any drug. It is up to people to use them responsibly and educate themselves before juicing.

Leave it to natural bodybuilders to come up with this crap. I look at it as jealousy to those who care not to indulge and tell others they should be forgotten about.Originally Posted by GymJamo

Your also one who is probably hoping they put a restriction on the current supplements that you can buy over the counter.
Here's a suggestion for you. The next time your bench pressing with heavy weights and need a spotter, let me be that person.

Yes, there is a jealousy when I see the big boys throwing around big weights, just like Tough Old Man said. Yes, I secretly wish to be huge and ripped. Yes, I want to be intimidating, that is, unfortunately what my line of work sometimes requires.
HOWEVER.
I still choose not to do them. Fine. This is a choice that I make for me, and do not apply my views on this matter to anyone else. No, I do not judge anyone for using them, I understand. I DO, however, lose respect for those who adopt arrogance and malicious behavior because they are impressive physical specimens. One does not have to come with the other. Because, after all is said and done, we are ALL in this to improve ourselves physically, so it must be remembered that we must improve ourselves mentally as well.

I didnt say you were. Ego is as much a detriment as it is a drive, for me at least. It becomes too distracting to be purist in the gym. I always get swayed by what I should be doing as opposed to what I want to be doing in the gym.Originally Posted by GymJamo

That's why you have to step in as a parent and talk to your kid about the issue should he take up a passon for bodybuilding. Steroids are already illegal, but people don't really care about the law a lot of times.Originally Posted by GymJamo
Steroids are a different story. The only people who are harmed are those who abuse them. I feel the same way about illicit drugs. Until you resort to stealing for money to support your habit, then you've done nothing wrong in my opinion.Don't blame guns don't blame steroids don't blame alcohol and cars for drink diving, yes blame people... but as you cant control human nature you will have to control the objects in question.
It doesn't matter what happens, people will still use steroids. They have been outlawed and people still use them. Even if they made very strict guidelines for drug testing in professional bodybuilding competitions, there would still be ways around them. You can have someone else's urine injected straight into your bladder. You don't think people will go through that trouble to have an edge on the competition? Guess again. It doesn't matter what you do; people are going to use steroids. And the control of steroids at the Olympia or any pro bodybuilding contest is a complete piss take, yes greed for the money men letting it happen yes greed for the competitors to win at all costs but the tool that is being used is steroids and HGH etc, what a great sport they have created, that you HAVE to do all that just to have a chance to get anywhere. How do you solve it? well if steroids didn't exist or vigorously try and control it in competitions as a priority then we wouldn't have such a problem, are you gonna try and change every one in the worlds nature of greed or are you gonna try and do something which is possible and control it to move forward, as bodybuilding isn't.

there are far more legal products out there that are much more detremental to ones health than AAS but it's all about politics. there are no lobbyists in DC to stand up for the manufacturers of steroids, so the possesion and use of them becomes criminalized, it is that plane and simple.Originally Posted by GymJamo

I have nothing against using steroids in moderation, but the level at which they are used today along with GH is rediculous, and I think most pros today look like "shit" and I can only imagine how their internal organs look.Originally Posted by GymJamo
I wish we could take bodybuilding back to the eighties, even early ninties where drugs were used but pros looked like Lee Haney not like Ronnie Coleman.
What might it have done to their internal organs? I assume you are referring to the liver and kidneys primarily.

I think that if someone wants to use steroids for his/her own benefit, for whatever reason, s/he should be able to do that. It is up to the individual to become educated before actually taking the plunge. On the other hand, if someone wants to take steroids and then compete against others who are natural, that isn't right in my opinion. The person on steroids didn't have to work as hard for that same physique (assuming all else is equal), and so shouldn't be given as much credit. I just think that when it comes to individual training for individual reasons, anything goes. After all, who cares? However, when someone uses drugs to compete against others, that's just cheating. I also feel that if someone brags about his/her physique, that person should at least have earned it all the way, not by taking eight pills and a shot every day. That's not earning; that's making a pointless sacrifice that will only kill the person in the end. I'm sure many people will complain about what I just wrote, and probably act like small, uneducated children and make ludicrous posts that call me names and swear. The only thing I'm interested in is whether I worded this correctly for people to understand my views; agreeing with them is another story.

I understood and I do agree with you. I also agree with Legion. I am natural, will always be, but I have no problem with those who juice. It's their personal choice and I always assume they've weighed the risks vs benefits and decided intelligently. My only issue with them is that they not compare themselves to me or other naturals. I also have no respect for those who use and deny it.
Defintiely going to agree with DiMaggio....
Haney.... Zane.... Arnold...
Regardless of their use of steroids, they didn't abuse the substances and they used them in moderation and their bodies proved to the world that they were really pieces of art. Zane, in my eyes, has one of the best bodies ever in bodybuilding hands down... Small waists are where its at... and Arnold adopted his style, too.
And i know for a fact that Frank Zane didn't abuse his gear as he went to the same doctor I did to get his stuff.Originally Posted by Robert DiMaggio
Yeah and Zane never looked as ridiculous as any of these guys now a day who clearly do abuset the stuff they are taking. Zane's body was a piece of art, plain and simple. Coleman's body is unbelievable... but without that X shape, he just looks so dumb... and straight up fat. It's all about the small waist X shape.
